Hi I'm Rob and I am a Level 4 Senior Performance Coach who is Accredited + and I am very proud to be the Head Coach here at MLTC. 

I have been a member at here at MLTC since 1992 when i joined the club as a 6 year. I became a coach and part of the coaching team in 2008 as soon as I graduated from University. Tennis is a sport which has given me so much pleasure and taught me so many skills and as a coach, I get the chance to give back. My coaching mantra is “make a difference”.  I like to understand what people want to achieve in order to help them attain their goals, with the ambition of helping any player achieve their potential at any age or ability. 

Tennis is a sport for life and as such I like coaching people of all ages and abilities. In particular I have enjoyed the journey producing junior players to county, regional, national and international level. 

As part of my coaching highlights so far, I would say I’m proud to have:

- Coached 2 players to a full sports scholarship to American University.

- Coached a player to top 10 national ranking at under 18 who came runner up in the U16 & U18 Grade 1 National Finals.

- Coached a player representing GB in an Under 12s match against France at the National Tennis Centre.

- Coached numerous players to Grade 1 and 2 level competitions as well as county champions at various age groups.

- Worked with East Region coaching team on Regional Camps and County Fun Days

- Become a county coach for Berkshire helping the best juniors in the county reach their potential.

- Coached at MLTC as a member of a fantastic coaching team in both development and performance environment for 15 years.

As a player I have represented both MLTC and Berkshire at junior and senior level playing the National division of the NCL, the National Doubles League, summer and winter county cup. I was county champion at every age group from under 12 to under 18 and have been Men’s club champion here at MLTC 4 times as well as doubles and mixed doubles champion. I also represented my university 1st team at Leicester and played in both France and Spain on my year abroad at university.

In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, going running and watching the mighty Manchester United.
